Paul Henning was the one who created The Beverly Hillbillies, and he paid $500 to shoot in the Bel Air mansion. This estate was built back in 1933. Called the Kirkeby Mansion, it was where the family lived, and Jerry Perenchio bought it afterward.

Buddy Ebsen was Jed Clampett on the show, and he and Nancy Kulp didn’t get along behind the scenes. He didn’t like her political views and went so far as to volunteer to star in radio ads of the opponent to hurt her winning chances.
