K.L. Norwood went to Fossil Ridge High School and was on the sidelines for homecoming. He enjoyed the game like everyone else. Though he couldn’t play football, Max Akin, his best friend, was the star quarterback of the team.

Norwood guessed that his best friend would end up taking home the honor of being homecoming king. However, when the time came and the announcement was made, something very unexpected happened! In fact, it would change K.L.’s life forever, and it was all because of a thoughtful gesture from a friend.

It was an average Friday night in Texas. However, Max Akin was having an amazing night under those bright lights. He was the quarterback for Fossil Ridge High School and had already run for 60, thrown for 200 yards, and scored four touchdowns by halftime.

Those stats are pretty impressive already, and the game wasn’t over yet. However, Akin had yet to make the most significant play of his life. K.L. was the team manager and was cheering for Max from the sidelines!
